About
Months after receiving my 1992 BS in mechanical engineering from UMass/Lowell, a car crash resulted in the loss of my lower left leg. Full-time athletic training and competition soon followed. I’ve been fortunate to have since set a world record in Ironman Triathlon and have represented my country at the Sydney and Athens Paralympic Games, leaving the latter with a silver and bronze.
Motivational speaking snuck into my repertoire over the years beginning with speaking to students of all ages across the country. My current occupation as a professional keynote speaker - echoing the power of attitude, optimism and work ethic - has been a culmination of years of hard work and commitment to building the life I wish to live.
My wife Sharon and I are proud parents of Jack and Luke Martin - sources of constant inspiration and pride.
