Always enjoy your posts Paul...even when you haven't much to say! Kudos on the finishes, the speech, and appointment to the Advisory Board :)

I'll be borrowing some of your comments from the speech in two weeks. As a part of the bike support for the Team World Vision 100 mile group, reminding them of why they are doing this and what the benefits are (along with the child sponsorships) could be helpful.

Thanks for sharing your insights along with your experiences!

What a timely post in my life. I just made "the call" last week. I have recently made Team USA, and my father didn't even know that i compete in triathlons. A lot of healing to be done. Thanks for sharing.

I just got your two books in this morning. I'm already a quarter of the way through "One Man's Leg" and engaged in your story. For myself, looking up at you, I love this quote:

“To follow the path:
look to the master,
follow the master,
walk with the master,
see through the master,
become the master.”

Hi Paul,

Fabulous! First of all, I want to read that book and second, this post reminds me of how heavy it can feel to carry around anger and resentment and how good it can feel to let it go - or at least be open about it. Congrats on making the call - I imagine it wasn't easy.

Oh and... when can we come see the deck:)

Paul, It's Jack from Pensacola, Fl. I just finished your book ( one man's leg) loved it!, couldn't put it down. What hit me so hard that day after hearing you speak would probably be hard to explain in a few lines but I will say what hit home was that after my music career, I finally got that "day job" and started climbing that corporate ladder and you made me re-realize that it was making me miserable walking around pretending to be someone else in the slacks and uncomfortable shoes! Life is too short for this! I taught myself to play piano and made a pretty decent living doing it for half my life. If I can do that I can learn anything. In another weird coincidence or connection in life, I did a search on you and the first page i opened was this one where you commented on meeting me. I too am glad we shared the same space that morning. Best of luck to you in all your endeavors and would love to teach you to play guitar! I taught my son a few chords, two years ago and he's already smoking my ass!
Take care!

Congratulations Paul,

Just going to Sweden on such short notice is hard enough but to go with the stump condition and run and complete a marathon in a great time is keeping you up in that rarified place of the truly elite athletes.

After being able to watch you in Florida at the CAF camp and now reading the chronic problems that are only a bump on your path I am more then inspired to keep on going to my own modest goals especially when the pain invariably begins.

Hope to see you on the road in the future
